THE HOLLOW

Bogeyman...voodoo man... Shit’s all the same to me.
— Wes from The Hollow

Full-Length Supernatural Drama, no Intermission
1M, 2W

Oliva and Wes, two addicts in recovery, relocate to her family's home in the heart of New Orleans' Garden District. During their stay they encounter Rosette, the maid, who has been quietly living in the mansion that is the recent scene of a crime. As Olivia and Wes try to reestablish their lives in a new home they must first settle some unfinished business regarding her eight-year-old half-brother Preston who has been missing for the last couple of weeks and whose absence not only haunts her family but the home in which they now reside. As family secrets become unraveled the truth may be more than any of them bargained for.

This play is a searing examination of racial identity along the fault lines of a post-Katrina New Orleans and it mines the ugly history of the master and servant dynamic in modern time that continues to haunt the very foundation of this region.
