Who gonna help 1,300 sanitation workers get to the mountaintop if King gone?
— Charlie from Go Up Together

10-minute Civil Rights Drama
2M

At the height of the Memphis garbage strike two men grapple with the recent assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

On April 4, 1968 Gus and Charlie's lives are forever changed as the older Charlie decides to cross the picket line after hearing of Dr. King's assassination and the younger Gus tries to encourage him to stay the course. As the civil unrest outside their doors heats up so does their conflict.

This highly-charged short uses the backdrop of a pivotal historical event to examine a multigenerational tale of two men struggling with doing the right thing and what it really means to be a man as the flames of the Civil Rights Movement ignite around them.
